General Information

Arrival/Departure
Teams/Players should plan to arrive in the Raleigh/Durham area no later than 6:00 PM on Friday, September 2nd. We recommend that teams/players plan to stay until Monday, September 6 in order to be able to participate in the banquet and awards ceremony usually following immediately after the tournament.

Minimum Player Age
While we generally discourage players under the age of 16 from participating in the tournament, there may be cases where players younger than 16 years do have the skill, speed, strength and stamina to compete with a team in the
tournament. In order to be eligible, players younger than 16 years of age on the date of the tournament must present a letter or waiver to the tournament committee before the start of the tournament. The letter or waiver needs to be signed by a parent or guardian, stating that s/he has their permission to participate in the tournament, with the awareness that there are certain risks involved due to the fact that most participants are older than 16 years. Players under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Team Uniform
Teams must be uniformly dressed on the court, with jerseys clearly numbered in front and back. Teams that would like to have extra players from individual player pool (if available) needs to bring uniforms for these players. We recommend that each team bring two uniform jerseys of different color in case of two teams having the same/similar colors. In the event of two teams having the same or similar colors, the home team will be asked to change jerseys. If a team does not have a second set of uniforms to change into then the tournament committee will provide pinnies. Team captain must wear a captain's armband. Shoes must be of an indoor type model which fully encloses the foot and have non marking soles.

General Rules And Regulations
We will be following IFF rules in the tournament with the following exceptions:

§  The clock will always be running in a period except on penalty shots and during injuries if or when the referee calls a time out.

§  Games ending in a tie during regulation time will remain tied except for the championship match. If the championship match is tied at the end of regulation time it shall b extended by one, 10 minute, golden goal extra time period. There will be a two-minute break between the end of the last period and the beginning of extra time. If the teams are still tied after the extra time period has ended, teams will go into penalty shots, with 5 players from each team taking one shot each. If the score after this is still tied then the same players will continue to take one penalty shot each until a decisive result (one team having scored more goals than shots remain for the other team) has been reached.

§  Teams will not switch ends during the break between periods.

§  The home team are the teams listed first in a match up. Home team status is determined by the tournament draw.
